The location of the Alpaca farm is extremely favourable for anyone who wants to reach the most important cultural and artistic centres of Tuscany, such as Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, San Gimignano, Volterra. The sea is about 30 Km far from the agritourism.
The Alpaca Farm is in fact located in Montecastello, a hamlet of Pontedera: near the exit of the FI-PI-LI highway, 25 km far from the airport of Pisa and 20 minutes far from the sea. Within the area there is the town of Pontedera, where one can find the train station, various shopping malls, cinemas, a swimming pool and several tourist attractions.
About 1.5 km far from our farmhouse there is the small medieval village of Montecastello, reachable by a country road which winds in perfect harmony with the landscape, between olive groves and fruit trees, discovering the treasures and the wonders of the place. Once you get to the village, you can take seat in a characteristic bar and enjoy your breakfast or aperitif. For groceries there is Manuela’s shop where you can buy typical Tuscan products.
In the surrounding countryside there are many charming villages and farms, testimonies of a rural past civilization. Observing the landscape one can experience old times and old customs, that arouse one’s emotions. A present and a past time let one enter a characteristic dimension, typical of some parts of Tuscany.
The famous open air “Theatre of Silence”is only 10 minutes far from the farm, in Lajatico. The theatre hosts a concert by Bocelli, who performs with several artists every year in July.
8 km away from Alpaca, in the small town of Pontedera, you can visit the famous Piaggio museum , which is visited daily by hundreds of people.
